茂文·道格拉斯
生于佐治亚州梅康。1919年在芝加哥首次登台参加戏剧演出，并成为职业演员。1928年，首次登上百老汇舞台，由他主演的《莫负春宵》获得极大的成功。1931年在与好莱坞当红影星葛洛丽亚．史璜逊搭档演出《莫负春宵》而开始他的影艺生涯。
