对于大部分短片和纪录片来说，如果一定要用“商业片”和“艺术片”这样的名称来区分电影类型，那本片一定是属于后者的。当然，这么一部抽象、隐喻和费解的电影，在爆米花时代的娱乐消费大潮里，实在是太不为消费者考虑了——一般对这种电影，都可以美其名曰“艺术片”。

影片选择的角度是特定的。自然地，主要表现的就是中国人内部的情感冲突和社会关系，更难得的是着力表现了大千世界、芸芸众生中的小人物的世界。此外，与很多一味强调“政治正确”“道德崇高”，喜欢走宏大叙事套数的电影不同，本片走的是民间叙事的路子，具有讲故事的风格，并没有过多的矫揉造作，刻意安排，一切笑料都似乎是遵循着生活的逻辑，平淡得如发生在我们身边，却又水到渠成，而又让人忍俊不禁。
